What
to
pack
All rooms come with en-suites; TV; clock radio/alarm; bar fridge and
tea/coffee making facilities. All linen is provided along with soap and
tea/coffee starter packs. You should bring your own shampoo and other
personal items. There is a supermarket in Thredbo along with Chemist,
Doctor, Newsagent and Clothing stores, which provide most things you
might need to buy during your holiday.
We have a central video system
and can play children videos and videos for teenagers at set times
in the evening.
Internet access is available by using your laptop to dial a local or
1800 number (via your mobile phone) which your ISP can supply you with
before you leave home. Alpenhorn is also 802.11 enabled for
those with wireless computing devices, so does not provide dial up access.
Ski
gear is obvious for winter but please don’t forget goggles;
beanies; neck warmers and of course, wrist guards for snow boarders.
A spare pair of waterproof shoes is recommended for all children.
Warm
clothing is essential all through the year as even summer nights can
be chilly. Other summer essentials are hats, insect repellent and
walking boots. If you plan any activities we recommend you bring your
swimmers, tennis gear and so on. There is heaps to do in summer so
come and surprise yourself !

Finding
Alpenhorn Lodge
As vehicles are not permitted in the Village Mall, you reach Alpenhorn
by driving along the main road, which loops inside the village. You will
pass the car parks on your left; chairlifts on your right; go under the
overhead footbridge; then pass the Church and Credo restaurant on your
right. The road then loops back on itself and traverses the village.
Take
the first road on your right after Credo - Alpenhorn is at the end
of this road, called Buckwong Place.
Our reception is on the ground floor,
adjacent to the car loading/unloading area. There is ample room for
you to check in and unload your car before
taking it to the designated overnight parking areas for the duration
of your stay, where it will be safe during snowfalls. The free village
shuttle buses will bring you back to Buckwong Place.
If you are arriving
after 5 pm just call ahead and let us know. We will leave your key
for you at reception.
Once you are settled you can open a glass of wine
or relax with a cup of tea and start enjoying your holiday !
